Wike’s PDP faction issues notice of BoT, NEC meeting in Abuja

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federeal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, has released a notice of a meeting of Board of Trustees and National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a poster on Facebook by Lere Olayinka, the minster’s aide, the notice is being issued by now-expelled National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu.

“The members of the National Executive Council (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BOT)  are hereby invited to an emergency meeting of NEC &BOT scheduled as follows,” it partly read.

The notice further said the meeting will hold at the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza in the FCT.

It further noted that “attendance is important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed.”

This comes less than 24 hours after another faction of the party concluded its National Elective Convention in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.

At the convention, which was reportedly boycotted by 13 states and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the opposition party expelled at least 11 members, including Wike, Anyanwu and former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
