Kano ADC cedes 60% party structure to Kwankwaso

The Kano chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ceded 60 percent of its state executive structure to political titan Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso after the election of new party officials.
At a state congress held at Cobra Stadium in Magajin Rumfa, Abdullahi Maikano became the chairman alongside 33 other executive members.
A result released by Saifullahi Hassan, media aide to Rabiu Kwankwaso, showed that Bala Inuwa was elected secretary, Abba Muktar as treasurer, and Salisu Muhammad as financial secretary.
Other positions went to Muhammad Yahaya as legal adviser, Farida Kamba as women leader, and Sunusi Oscar as youth leader, among others.
Members of the state transition committee and national officials of the party sent from Abuja to supervise the exercise and screen aspirants attended the Congress.
Kwankwaso, Ibrahim Khalil and Al’amin Little attended the event.
Hassan said the former governor accepted 60 percent of the party structure in the state, declining an “earlier offer of 80 percent” from the party leadership.
According to him, the decision was made to allow for broader participation among members within the opposition coalition.
Kwankwaso joined the ADC in March after resigning from the New Nigeria People’s Party, the platform on which he vied for the 2023 presidential election.
