Venus Williams ties the knot with Italian actor Preti

Seven-time Grand Slam singles champion, Venus Williams, has officially tied the knot with Italian actor and former model Andrea Preti following a five-day celebration in Florida, after the couple held a symbolic wedding in Italy last September.

The newlyweds visited a courthouse in Florida last Friday to legalize their union, and on Saturday they celebrated the wedding with close family and friends at a residence owned by Williams in Palm Beach, the tennis legend told Vogue magazine.

The ceremony marked the culmination of five days of festivities, which included yacht outings paid for by Serena Williams—Venus’s younger sister and a 23-time Grand Slam champion—fine-dining experiences at upscale restaurants, and an active afternoon featuring volleyball, pickleball, and obstacle races.

Williams revealed to the magazine that she wore ten custom-made dresses for the occasion, including one designed by Lebanese fashion designer Georges Hobeika.

Williams, 45, and Preti, 37, met during Milan Fashion Week in September 2024 and immediately felt a strong connection, according to the athlete. While they were getting to know each other, Williams was diagnosed with adenomyosis, a condition affecting endometrial tissue that required surgery.

She said Preti played a crucial role during the most difficult moments of that process. “I had surgery a month after Andrea and I met. It was crazy, but that’s how we got to know each other,” she said.

The couple first celebrated a symbolic wedding on September 18 in the Italian town of Ischia, as it was their dream to marry in the Mediterranean country.

“But we didn’t have enough time to complete the paperwork; since I’m a foreigner, it can take about eight months. So we decided to have a second wedding,” Williams explained.

This latest ceremony, centered on the tennis star’s roots in Florida, ultimately served to officially formalize their marriage.
