‘PDP in hopeless situation, captains of our boats are jumping ship’ – Fayose

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a hopeless situation, stressing that members who should build the party are joining other opposition parties.

Fayose said this on Sunday, while addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The ex-governor said there is no hope for PDP to return to power, given recent developments within the party.

“The PDP is in a hopeless situation and a shadow of itself. The party needs a leader who can reunite everybody at this time.

“There is no hope of PDP coming back for now. Even the captains of our boat are jumping ship. They are moving from one bed to another. So, who is going to hold the party together,” he said.

The former governor, who said that PDP has reasonably gone into extinction, stressed that the Damagum-led National Working Committee are undertakers, adding that they have come to bury the party.

According to him, they are leaving in less than one or two months, yet they are still suspending and counter-suspending members.
