Junior Music revisits memory of a better Haiti in “M Anvi Wè

Haïtian singer Junior Music, fondly known as Jean Junior, has released a socially conscious new single titled “M Anvi Wè,” a song that reflects on the nostalgia of a Haiti many remember as more peaceful, respected, and united. Through the track, the young artist from Gonaïves expresses his longing to see the Haiti that once flourished between the 1950s and 1980s.
Available on his YouTube channel, “M Anvi Wè” moves away from the traditional romantic themes often heard in contemporary music and instead focuses on the social realities affecting Haiti today. According to Junior Music, the song was initially intended to be sentimental, but the ongoing difficulties facing the country inspired him to address a deeper issue. He explained that hearing constant negative narratives surrounding Haiti pushed him to use his music as a form of reflection and awareness.
The song touches on several challenges currently impacting Haitian society, including insecurity, political instability, unemployment, inflation, and the growing loss of national pride. Once celebrated as the “Pearl of the Antilles,” Haiti now struggles with a deteriorating image marked by violence and the influence of armed groups, particularly in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. Junior Music also highlights concerns surrounding brain drain, the increasing number of young Haitians leaving the country in search of better opportunities, and the mistreatment faced by Haitians abroad.
Despite the heavy subject matter, “M Anvi Wè” carries a message of consciousness and hope. Junior Music calls on Haitians, especially the youth, to recognize the country’s reality while continuing to fight for a better future and pursue their dreams.
The single was written and recorded by Junior Music in his own studio. Mixing and mastering were handled by Maestro Fred G Boy Beats, while the three-minute music video was produced by Kendy Haïti. The artist also revealed that this release is only the beginning, as several new projects and music videos are already in preparation.
Behind the scenes, Junior Music works alongside a team that includes Fred G Boy Beats, Kendy Haïti, and Massénat James, who oversees the marketing and distribution strategy for the artist’s releases.
