Tension is said to be rising in the Samaru area of Zaria, Kaduna State, after a bag containing bullets fell from a moving vehicle suspected to belong to bandits.
In a video shared on Facebook, the bag of ammunition was seen lying on the road with the bullets spilled out of it and scattered on the road.
The development has thrown residents of the area into panic. According to reports, the incident occurred suddenly, with the occupants of the vehicle driving off without realizing what had happened.
The sight of the ammunition scattered on the ground sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many residents terrified and worried about the increasing boldness of criminal elements in the area. Eyewitnesses described the moment as “frightening and deeply unsettling,” noting that the fear it left behind is difficult to capture in words.
In the footage, some individuals were seen gathering the scattered bullets on the road.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement, but security agencies in the area are said to have responded to the scene and commenced investigations.
Kaduna is one of the bandit-infested states in the north.
