No evidence of Christian genocide in Nigeria – ADC

The opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said there is no evidence of a state-sponsored genocide against Christians in Nigeria.

ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said this on Tuesday on Channels Television programme, Politics Today.

Abdullahi’s remarks followed the recent declaration bu United States President Donald Trump, who designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over allegations of Christian genocide.

Trump also revealed that he had the Department of War for possible military action in Nigeria, if the Nigerian government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”

“I cannot say there is evidence of genocide and from what we have seen we cannot describe what is going on as genocide,” ADC spokesman said.

“The question is not about how the Americans are framing it. The question is that people are being killed in Nigeria and we have the opportunity to let the Americans know that there’s no genocide going on in Nigeria.”
