Meet Chiclux, afrobeats prodigy whose music journey began at two years old

Chinonso Patrick Udeh, popularly known by his stage name Chiclux, is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer and entertainer whose passion for music has been evident from a remarkably young age. For Chiclux, music is more than a career path it is a divine gift, one that has shaped his identity, purpose, and artistic journey.

Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Chiclux grew up in a middle-class family where his talent began to shine early. According to close associates, his love for music started at the tender age of two, a rare feat that later defined his creative direction. He completed both his primary and secondary education in Lagos, where his musical abilities quickly set him apart.

As a student, Chiclux was widely known for entertaining both seniors and fellow classmates with his unique sound and melodious voice. His ability to sing effortlessly made him popular within his school environment and well-loved among peers. Beyond the classroom, he was also a familiar voice in his neighbourhood, where he regularly performed songs by global music icons such as Usher, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, and Westlife during the early 2000s.

Chiclux is currently studying Political Science at Lagos State University (LASU), balancing academics with a deep commitment to music. Despite his academic pursuits, he consistently describes music as his place of peace a space where he finds meaning, purpose, and emotional fulfilment. His ultimate dream, he says, is to make people happy and help listeners find peace through his songs.
Driven by an uncommon level of passion, Chiclux believes in expressing music with his body, heart, and soul. He attributes his talent and inspiration to God, describing his gift as divine. While growing up, he drew creative influence from American R&B superstar Usher Raymond, whose artistry and innovation played a significant role in shaping his musical style.

Chiclux began composing and writing songs as early as 2004, demonstrating an extraordinary level of creativity from a young age. By the time he released his first official song, “Occupy” in 2012, he had reportedly written over 1,000 songs. He later followed up with releases such as “I Gat the Money” (2014) and “Not Giving Up” (2015).

In 2017, Chiclux gained wider attention with the release of “Roll Am,” a song that earned him increased recognition and marked a turning point in his career. Despite releasing numerous tracks over the years, he initially pursued music largely as a passion and source of personal joy rather than a commercial venture.

A major shift came on December 5, 2025, when Chiclux released his new single “Jadrolita,” a record that signalled a new chapter in his artistic evolution. The song introduced a refreshed sound and direction, reflecting his growth, maturity, and readiness for a broader audience.

Today, Chiclux releases music under TMY Empire Records, positioning himself for greater visibility within Nigeria’s fast-growing music industry. With a story rooted in talent, faith, consistency, and passion, Chiclux continues to carve a unique path one defined not just by sound, but by purpose.
