Iran warns of ‘devastating’ retaliation after Trump’s expletive-filled threats

In the aftermath of US President Donald Trump statement appearing to set a deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!” (01:00 BST Wednesday), Iran has thundered back of devastating consequences after Trump’s threats.
In an expletive-laden threat to attack Iranian infrastructure, Trump said that “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!”
In response, Iran warns of “much more devastating” retaliation if civilian targets are attacked.
“If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next stages of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more devastating and widespread,” reads a statement from a spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters – Iran’s highest operational military command unit. The statement was published by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
