The Police Command in Yobe State, has announced the escape of one condemned inmate, Abba Hassan, from the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, Potiskum.
Speaking through its Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command said the fugitive hails from Borno State.
The police sent a warning to the public to be vigilant and offer support to the command in the rearrest of the escaped convict.
A statement by the command’s PRO Saturday, said, “Members of the public, security agencies, transport operators, community leaders, and vigilante groups within Yobe State and neighbouring states are hereby advised to be vigilant and report any sighting or information that may lead to his location and prompt rearrest.
“Do not attempt to confront or apprehend him on your own”, it warned.
The Command told the public to report to the nearest Police Station or closest Correctional Service facility, or call the following emergency numbers, 08038452982.
