
Voting has begun in the Anambra State governorship election. Already, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed materials to polling units in the 21 Local Government Area of the state ahead of the exercise.
According to reports, voting is ongoing at Fegge Community Primary School, Fegge in Onitsha. Heavy traffic has mounted up at the Onitsha Bridge, where several heavy-duty trucks and vehicles have been cordoned off for the election.
A representative of a civil society organisation monitoring the Anambra Governorship Election, Jake Epelle, says residents have little to fear regarding security across the state.
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, has been advised to do everything in his power to deliver a free and fair election in the Anambra governorship election scheduled for Saturday, stating that no excuses for failure would be accepted from his end.
