Dangote berates NMDPRA boss over alleged $5m school fees for children

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has lambasted the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Farouk Ahmed, stating he is living way above his income.

He stated that Ahmed should be probed as the conflict between both men renews.

Speaking to journalists, Dangote stated that Ahmed was paying $5 million each as school fees for his children in a school in Switzerland.

Dangote said that he himself, as wealthy as he is, cannot spend such money without being questioned.

“Mallan Farouk has four of his children whom he educated in Switzerland at a cost of $5 million for their secondary school education alone, not university.

“When you look at his income, his income does not match paying this kind of fees.

“And even if it’s me paying $5m for six years for my four children, the taxman has to look at my taxes and how much I pay.

“From Sokoto, where he comes from, people are struggling to pay N100,000 for school fees. A lot of children are at home, not going to school, because of N100,000,” said.Dangote.
