Super Eagles forward , Victor Osimhen, gave an assist as Galatasaray defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 fixture at the RAMs Park in the Turkish capital.
A header by Osimhen was converted into the Liverpool net by Mario Lemina after seventh minutes of play
Osimhen had a decent performance and thought he had registered a goal of his own in the 63rd minute but his effort was ruled out for office, prompting disbelief from Osimhen and Galatasaray players and technical room staff.
Osimhen has scored seven goals, and three assists in nine appearances in Europe’s top flight club competition this season.
On their part, Liverpool would be feeling undone after having a goal of their own disallowed for handball in the second half.
The second leg to determine who progress to the quarterfinals takes place next week Wednesday at Anfield, with Osimhen seeking to get the better of Liverpool and continue his quest to win the Champions League for the first time in his career.
